„NEKONOTEN“ means „cat’s hand“ in Japanese. At the same time, it also means „cat’s note“.

About two years ago, Yumiko Oshima met Izumi Ose and Akira Ando in Berlin. In March 2016, they perticipated in the last performance of the event „Fukushima the Aftermath“ at Werkstatt der Kulturen.
Since then, they played together in Heno Heno , Badenscher-Hof etc…
Trio „NEKONOTEN“ plays the compositions from Hans Eisler, Kurt Weill, Toru Takemitsu, and Akira Ando besides jazz standards and japanese / chinese songs.
On 25th of October 2017, they will be performing in Yumiko’s hometown Shizuoka Japan.
This time at Terzo Mondo, the trio invites Hiroki Mano as a guest tap dancer.
