The Transatlantic Hearts Tour
als English Folk Americana Artist bezeichnet Catherine Ashby sich selbst. Klingt verwirrend? Irgendwie schon, andererseits aber auch wieder nicht. Lauscht man nämlich ihrer Musik aufmerksam, und es lohnt sich, dies zu tun, so wird einem rasch klar, dass es überhaupt keine treffendere Beschreibung für diese Musik gibt.
Catherine kommt allerdings nicht alleine auf Tour, sondern sie teilt die Bühne mit der bekannten amerikanischen Country/Folk-Musikerin Brooksie Wells. Die beiden haben sich vor fünf Jahren erstmals in Nashville getroffen und sofort eine tiefe musikalische Verbindung gespürt.

„Catherine Ashby and I met in Nashville five years ago and then again this year in Montreal at International Folk Alliance. I was impressed with her artistry ,her eccentricity ,and her big heart. I had returned to the music business and been blessed with two top 10 records on the folk charts in the past three years. Catherine offered me the opportunity to tour Germany which is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. We connected even though we are a generation apart and an ocean apart.
Catherine’s folk sound is reminiscent of 60s Mersey beat which influenced all of my writing. We will be sharing our original songs ,harmonizing with one another ,and also including some catchy eclectic covers just for the fun of it.
