Wooli / 無理 / 우리 is a duo consisting of Pipa player Fan-Qi Wu and drummer Michael Lee Sørenmo, the music is mainly based on East- Asian traditional music.
Wooli Duo has played concerts across Scandinavia, Europe, and Taiwan. Our performances create immersive soundscapes combining pipa, drum set, and Korean percussion, bridging ancient textures with spontaneous creation.
The duo draws inspiration from East Asian traditional music, as well as from free improvisation. A goal of the project is a desire to reinterpret and transform the music, to approach tradition not as a fixed form, but as something living and ever changing.
