DESCRIPTION:Crinale – record release\nThe album Crinale was recorded at Zentrifuge Studio\, Berlin\, Dec.\, 14th 2024\, by the pianist Tommaso Vespo\, the bassist Ben Lahmann and the drummer Martial Frenzel. \nThey never played before as a trio even played together as members of the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra. \nThe music is totally improvised. \nThe mixing and the photo cover are by Tito Knapp. \nThe album is released on https://tommasovespo.bandcamp.com/album/crinale \nTOMMASO VESPO\, Italian jazz pianist\, active in the Italian and European free music scene; member of various groups and orchestras with which he has played in festivals in NY\, London\, Vienna and Italy; he has to his credit recordings as leader and member; since 2013 he has been member of Berlin Improvisers Orchestra. \nBEN LEHMANN\, bassist\, born in Berlin in 1990\, is an active mainstay of Berlin`s young\, modern Jazz scene. He plays together with leading improvisors across different generations in German Free Jazz\, as well as in varying formations which focus on his own and bandmates‘ compositions. Exemplary are his musical collaborations with Christof Thewes\, Henrik Walsdorff\, Rudi Mahall\, Jan Roder\, Anna Kaluza\, Paul Engelmann\, Martial Frenzel\, Florian Müller\, Hartmut Oswald\, Jan Leipnitz\, Johannes Barthelmes and many more. He’s a member of the BerIO. \nMARTIAL FRENZEL\, drummer\, he studied jazz at the University of Saarland and became part of the Saarbrucken jazz scene\, playing in various ensembles as well as in the jazz rock trio HUL (Discoboys\, 2011). Improvisation is our only way forward.\nThat change is coming; it is emergent and urgent.\, which is sürgős in Hungarian. \nSürgős\nis a new international ensemble featuring globally recognized improvisors coming together in live collaboration\, beginning with a short tour of Europe this April!\nCox and Levin first played together with Cecil Taylor at the San Francisco Jazz Festival in the late 1990s. This will mark their first outing together. Levin and Akira Ando have worked together in several ensembles over the years. Jakub Švejnar and Christopher Cox have worked together with saxophonist Jason Robinson on his last European tour\, and in the exploratory trio Sapien Paradox\, which is a fusion of free jazz and electronic noise music.\nThe music will intense\, not the kind of thing you can passively observe. Die Band spielt neue Arrangements von Stücken aus dem Honky Tonk\, Nashville Sound\, Hollywood Filmmusik der 40er Jahre\, dunkle Amerikanische Volksballaden und eigene Songs bevorzugt mit sehr langsamen\, prärieanmutenden Tempi.\nDie geschmeidig schöne und tief emotionale Stimme von Amy Green\, dreistimmige Gesangsätze und ein für eine Countryband ungewöhnliches Instrumentarium von Trompete\, Tenorhorn\, Theremin und Liuquin sind eine Kraft der Entschleunigung. \n\nKlingeberg – tp\, lapsteelgit\, voc\nRolf Sudmann – 4-str. guitar\, theremin\, liuqin\, voc\nJan Roder – doublebass\nSteve Heather – drums\,voc\n\n\nthe Band:\nAn encounter with the slow grinding musical jewels of Amerian pre-1960 country music. The band plays new arrangements of songs from Honky Tonk and Nashville sound as well as from Hollywood film music of the 40’s\, dark Appalacian folk ballads and original songs.\nThe smooth and deeply emotional vocals of Amy Green\, three part vocal harmonies\, and extravagant instrumentation with trumpet\, theremin\, steel lap guitar\, tenor horn and liuqin are a decelerating force.

Als kritischer Musiker hat er in seinem Lied „Ich bin die Freie Rede“ sein musikalisches Statement zur Lage abgeliefert. Ansonsten ist der umtriebige Musiker bemüht\, positiv in die Welt zu schauen (Zitat: „auch wenn die Dinge nicht gut sind\, bin ich guter Dinge!“) und sein abenteuerliches Leben mit Geschichten in Liedern den Zuhörern ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zu zaubern. \nHier die Laudatio für den Schallplattenpreis: \n„Seit fünfzig Jahren wandelt Lüül zwischen Krautrock (Ash Ra Tempel)\, wunderbarer Weltmusik (17 Hippies) und modernem Liederschreiben. Seine Stimme ist markant\, seine Kompositionen sind nie beliebig\, zudem herausragend interpretiert von einer fantastischen Band\, und mal poetisch\, mal bissig die Texte. So auch im Fall von »Der stille Tanz«\, mit Reflektionen zur Corona-Pandemie\, die Lüül\, den Weltenbummler\, zum Stillstand führte (»Die Welt hält an«). Melancholie trifft auf Weltschmerz\, ohne in Larmoyanz zu verfallen. Im Gegenteil: Diesem musikalischen Tausendsassa gelingt das Kunststück\, uns auf hohem Niveau zu unterhalten.“ Für die Jury der deutschen Schallplattenkritik: Hans Reul 2022 \nLüüls Songs begeistern durch musikalische Vielfalt und mitreißenden Charme. Das ist eigenwillig und authentisch\, und wird mit Berliner Chuzpe präsentiert. Souverän gelingt Lüül der Spagat zwischen Tiefgang und Humor\, Alltags-Wahnsinn und bewegenden Momenten. Das ist vor allem gute Unterhaltung!

Sein erster Roman\, “Das Horn des Hasen“\, mehr als 20 Jahre vor der Veröffentlichung in der DDR geschrieben\, erst 2000 beim Verlag Angelika Hörnig publiziert\, erscheint bereits in der elften Auflage. Es gibt ihn auch in englischer Übersetzung. Mit diesem Debüt entstand im Verlag eine Romanreihe; Band 2: „Pfeile im Nebel“ (2004)\, Band 3: „Gegen den Strom“ (2008)\, Band 4: „Das unsichtbare Ziel“ (2011). Frühe Gedichte erschienen 2007: „Toter Briefkasten“; der zweite Gedichtband „Wirrwahr“ (2010\, Engelsdorfer Verlag Leipzig) enthält überwiegend zeitkritische Texte. Sein dritter Lyrikband „Lese-Zeichen“ (2014\, Tobusch Verlag für Kunst und Medien) verbindet eine Gedichtauswahl mit korrespondierenden Grafiken von Wolfgang D. Buschenhagen. 2022 erschien „Restlicht und Widerschein“\, Prosa\, Hirnkost Verlag. Günther Bach ist Mitglied des Schriftstellerverbands VS.
